ABOUT SOROUSH JAVDAN
I’m Soroush Javdan, a Ph.D. candidate in Computer Science at Carleton University, supervised by Prof. Olga Baysal, and a researcher/engineer at Ericsson Canada. My work spans information retrieval, NLP, and software engineering for telecom, with interests in efficient model adaptation and practical retrieval systems that help engineers act on the right information at scale. At Ericsson and Carleton, I’ve contributed to criterion-aware Trouble Report retrieval, anomaly detection for large-scale systems, and approaches that reduce compute while maintaining quality. I earned my M.Sc. from Iran University of Science and Technology on personalized dialogue generation and have contributed to projects in aspect-based sentiment analysis, offensive language detection, and code-mixed sentiment analysis.
