About Sophie Yellis
Hi! I’m Sophie Yellis, a senior at Muhlenberg College, graduating in December 2024 with a major in psychology and a minor in public health. My diverse academic journey, combined with my extracurricular and work experiences, have shaped me into a dedicated, empathetic, communicative, and responsible individual. I currently work as a lifeguard at Muhlenberg’s Life Sport Center, but my involvement with the Office of Community Engagement—where I volunteer with elementary-aged children, teaching lessons on empowerment, wellness, and nutrition—and my recent participation in the Education Collective solidified my passion for elementary education.I bring a caring and nurturing approach to the classroom, complemented by confidence, passion, and a strong sense of purpose. My teaching style will reflect my preparedness, poise, and excitement to make a meaningful impact on children’s lives. Upon my graduation, I look forward to joining a classroom as a Teaching Assistant in Long Island or the New York City area, where I aim to further develop my skills before pursuing my Master’s in Childhood Education.
