ABOUT SOPHIE STRAKA

I am a graduate student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill pursuing a Master’s in Professional Studies while competing as a member of the Women’s Lacrosse team. I earned my B.S. in Cognitive Science from Yale University, where I served as captain of the Women’s Lacrosse team and was recognized for both athletic and academic leadership. Alongside my athletic career, I’ve built a strong foundation in finance through two summers in investment banking at Goldman Sachs in the Cross Markets Group. These experiences strengthened my analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to perform under pressure—skills I look forward to bringing to my full-time role in Goldman’s Leveraged Finance team following graduation. I am passionate about the intersection of teamwork, strategy, and problem-solving, and I strive to bring the same discipline and resilience I’ve developed as a student-athlete into my professional career in investment banking.
