ABOUT SOPHIE JABES

As a child, I was never the kid who played on the playground during recess. You could always find me sitting under the trees counting the spots on ladybugs or collecting leaves from the different types of trees. I remember as a little girl, I would excitedly tell people what I wanted to be when I grew up. It was never the typical answer of ballerina or astronaut, but big words that I couldn\'t even spell - most of which ended in some sort of -ologist. BUT, my dreams changed, or rather, they grew! As my education expanded, I learned that there were endless fields related to the environment, beyond the -ologist title. My education exposed me to the international and cultural aspects of the environmental world, far larger than my recess bubble that I had studied so closely. Since then, I\'ve had a staunch commitment to contribute to global environmental development by leveraging my skills and experience to drive sustainable practices and policies that protect natural resources and promote economic and social progress. Through my work, I aim to make a meaningful impact on the planet and create a better future for generations to come.
