About Sophie Frain
I\'m currently working at Darlington Fabrics as a Dyehouse Colorist. I have two degrees from NC State\'s Wilson College of Textiles, a Masters in Textile Chemistry and a Bachelors in Polymer and Color Chemistry. While in college, I gained experience in dyeing and finishing through 4 years of working in the Zeis Textiles Extension Dyeing and Finishing Lab. I also conducted research in the Textile Biocatalysis Research group at NC State, examining ways to catalyze the carbon capture process and conduct electricity with enzymes. I also completed two internships, one at Freudenberg Performance Materials in the Colback R&D group and Eastman Chemical Company in the Plastics Technology Division. I have been an active member of AATCC since freshman year and served as the President of the NC State Student Chapter for 2 years.
