About Sophie Mode
I am a recent graduate of Vassar College with nearly a decade of community organizing experience for educational equity and youth voice. I am the Program Associate for the NYC Youth Journalism Coalition, a coalition of service providers, students, teachers, colleges & universities, funders and newsrooms advocating for equitable access to youth journalism opportunities. At Vassar, I majored in Education and Urban Studies. I am a former public school student from Brooklyn, NY, where I was a leader at Teens Take Charge, a youth-led organization working for educational integration and equity in NYC public schools and a founding member of the Service Learning Project Youth Board, which fights for culturally responsive action civics education.
