ABOUT SOPHIE HOCKING

Senior Curator Botany (Invasive and Non-invasive species) at National Museum Cardiff.Previously Biosciences Lecturer at Swansea University specialising in plant ecology, conservation and invasion ecology. My PhD focused on the environmental impacts of Japanese knotweed and its management, and how best practice can be enhanced through integration with the wider environment and community ecology. I have an academic background in plant ecology and conservation, previously working with nationally scarce plants including fen orchid, dune gentian and marsh pea in habitats of conservation importance around South West Wales.
