ABOUT SOPHIE COLVINE
With 30 years of experience in the tomato processing industry, I am the General Secretary of both the World Processing Tomato Council (WPTC) and the Mediterranean International Association of the Processing Tomato (AMITOM), two international non-profit organizations that represent more than 95% of the global tomato processing volume. My mission is to facilitate the exchange of information and knowledge within and about the industry, as well as to promote its interests and development worldwide.As the General Secretary, I manage the daily operations and the strategic planning of both organizations, as well as the communication and collaboration with their members and partners. I am also the administrator and an editor of Tomato News, the leading online publication for the tomato processing industry, which provides timely and reliable news, data, and analysis on the sector. Moreover, I organize the World Processing Tomato Congresses and the ISHS Symposia on the Processing Tomato, which are biennial events that bring together tomato growers, processors, researchers, and stakeholders from around the world to share the latest innovations and trends in the field.
