Most hiring problems I’m brought into aren’t caused by a lack of candidates.They’re often caused by a lack of market insight, slow or inflexible internal processes, or briefs that don’t quite reflect what the business needs right now.I work with senior lab managers, operations leaders, founders and CEOs across pharma, medtech and the wider life sciences space. Typically small to mid-sized businesses across the UK and Europe that are scaling or working to ambitious delivery goals.Many of my clients don’t have internal TA, or they do and they need a hand. What they need is pace, judgement and honest feedback.How I helpI support leaders who want to hire well and move quickly, without compromising on quality or culture.My focus is on technical and scientific roles across science, engineering, QA, RA and operational functions. I recruit predominantly on a permanent basis, with contract support where the market or project demands it.The work starts with understanding the bigger picture. Not just the job description, but why the role exists now, what happens if it stays unfilled, and what success really looks like once someone is in seat.From there, I bring clear, market-led insight. What’s realistic, what isn’t, where flexibility will unlock progress, and where it won’t.Clients often tell me I send fewer profiles, but they’re the right ones.What tends to changeHiring can feel slow or frustrating. Sometimes plenty of CVs, but little momentum. Limited feedback from the market. Roles that drag on longer than they should.Afterwards, clients have a clearer view of the talent landscape, make decisions with more confidence, and build teams that actually stick. Hiring starts to support delivery, not distract from it.Experience and scopeI recruit across pharma, CDMOs and medtech environments, working with organisations at different stages of growth. Roles range from specialist scientific, engineering and quality positions through to senior leadership and C-suite.My background as a scientist, combined with long-term experience in regulated environments, allows me to understand both the technical detail and the commercial reality.
