ABOUT SOPHIE BALYO

I am a sophomore at the University of Tampa, majoring in International Business and Management with a minor in Leadership Studies and Spanish, with hands-on experience in leadership, mentorship, and business operations. As a First-Year Studies Peer Mentor, I support students as they navigate academic and social transitions, helping them feel confident and connected on campus. In my role as a Language Lab Assistant, I help faculty and students make the most of technology for language learning. I also gained practical experience through a summer internship at First American Resources Company, assisting with HR, accounting, operations, and recruitment projects. On campus, I am an active member of the UTampa Diplomats and the President’s Leadership Fellows, leading events, service initiatives, and mentorship projects that strengthen leadership and community involvement. Fluent in Spanish and passionate about global business, cultures, and problem-solving, I enjoy working in collaborative, diverse environments and am looking for opportunities to apply my skills, make a meaningful impact, and continue growing professionally.
