About Sophia Jung

I have always been interested in the intersection between the scientific/technological world and the social world and exploring the direct effects of scientific advancements on communities on every scale. My first job at Global Good focused on the innovations that benefit third world countries in terms of AI cold chain, LFAs, waste management, potable water, and more. I worked on a project that attempted to address human waste management with a biomimicry technique based on water transportation in plants. Throughout college I pursued an education in physics and became particularly interested in the medical applications. I received the opportunity to work at the Proton Therapy Center. However, it was cancelled due to the pandemic. My physics education still provided me with proficient problem solving skills, a motivated and determined work ethic, and a foundational knowledge in the sciences. During quarantine, I completed the UW Coding Bootcamp, which taught a full stack web development curriculum. Additionally, I completed courses in Linux Command Line, Java, Python, and Haskell. In 2022, I joined New Relic as a BDE and quickly moved to an Account Executive. During my time at New Relic, I consistently exceeded quota, built millions in pipeline, and piloted/helped build out a brand new sales team. In 2023, I left New Relic to start a Korean rice wine brewery, Rainbrew, in Washington with my brother. Rainbrew is one of the only artisanal Korean rice wine breweries in the United States. We seek to create a new category in alcohol and share the culture of traditional Korean beverages with our community. With a small team of just my brother and me, I have a wide range of responsibilities including business development, marketing, branding, brewing, operations, sales, and retail management.
