About Sophia Zaldua

I am a dedicated Biomedical Engineering student at Florida State University specializing in biomaterials and biopolymers. I am devoted to improving the quality of life of individuals through assistive medical devices. During my time at Florida State, I founded GRiP (Generation Relief in Prosthetics); a registered student organization, created with the purpose of engineering inclusivity and improving accessibility for individuals with limb differences and disabilities by utilizing software such as SolidWorks and Shapr3d to create 3D models of medical assistive devices. In my every decision, my heart takes the lead and my intellect closely follows suit. Whether it\'s a familiar endeavor or an uncharted territory, I\'m drawn to it if it means I can make a positive impact in someone\'s life, or enhance someone\'s well-being. I am always willing to acquire the necessary skills, delve into research, and self-educate as needed. The world is brimming with inspiration, and I aspire to be the engineer who transforms the trivial into something invaluable; an engineer of inclusivity.
