About Sophia Bergstrom

I am a senior at Willamette University, double-majoring in Politics, Policy, Law, & Ethics, and Civic Communication & Media. I am a hard-working individual accustomed to fast-paced environments who can flex to be both a leader and a support person. I can think on my feet, and I have the ability to see what gaps need to be filled. I bring experience from my past working environments, but am always looking to grow my skills. I have worked in many leadership positions, and I value team collaboration to work towards common goals.

   Teaching Assistant (TA) for CCM 110- Introduction to Communication Studies- Facilitating small-group conversations during class activities, workshops, and discussions- Organizing and supporting in-class discussion groups, including planning groups in advance, modeling active participation, and helping students develop effective discussions- Creating sample examples or models for student assignments (e.g, life path, insight interview plan, portfolio)- Assessing some student contributions, using clear rubrics and instructor guidance (e.g, attendance participation, small group presentations.)- Supporting alumni guest visits, including coordination, and facilitation of discussion before or after visits- Serving as a peer mentor, helping students navigate expectations of college-level communication coursework
