ABOUT SOPHIA MALKO

Very excited about Fusion! Let\'s make it happen! I am a research scientist at specializing in charged particle transport in high energy density (HED) plasmas and physics of magnetized HED plasmas relevant to inertial fusion and astrophysics. My expertise is in both high-repetition-rate short-pulse and high-energy long- pulse laser facilities (>20 experiments at facilities worldwide)- Leading international collaboration to advance theoretical and experimental research on charged particle transport in extreme states of matter- Principal investigator of magnetized HED experiments on the OMEGA laser facility to study preheat phase of magnetized linear fusion.
