About Sophia Kontos
Hi, I\'m a second-year JD student at Harvard Law School. I\'m interested in pursuing a legal career in public international law and international arbitration. Eventually, I hope to focus on issues around restitution of stolen cultural property. I spent this summer working at the International Institute for the Unification of Private Law on legal questions around cultural property as a Chayes International Public Service Fellow. Next summer, I will be a Summer Associate at Debevoise & Plimpton in New York City. In May 2023, I graduated from UT Austin with a B.A. in Plan II Honors with Highest Honors and a B.A. in International Relations & Global Studies with Highest Honors. I also earned two minors: French and Government. Throughout my academic career, I was particularly interested in how smaller countries use \"soft power,\" especially in the form of culture, to gain political capital on the European and international stages. I\'m a passionate and focused learner who enjoys independent research and a cosmopolitan-minded education. In my free time, I love cooking, learning new languages, and watching women\'s soccer.
