ABOUT SOPHIA KESTEVEN

I\'m a Partnerships Manager for Octopus Energy, working on collaborations with everyone from high street banks to grassroots charities. Mainly focused on getting low carbon tech into people’s homes to lower their bills and carbon emissions, I lead on partnerships with Uber, Santander, Lloyds, VirginRed, National Energy Action and Renewable World, to name a few. Previously I’ve project managed Octopus’ Octoplus reward scheme; spun up the annual Energy Tech Summit; and led on sustainability-related projects across the international business. My work\'s included measuring & reporting the company\'s GHG emissions, setting science-based targets, and implementing our climate action strategy beyond the work we do in the energy transition. I also manage Tech Zero - the campaign and official partner to the UN Race to Zero that helps tech companies create action plans, set science-based targets, and work together to achieve net zero.(Go to https://techzero.io/to join over 350 companies already signed on!) My previous work includes researching, developing and deploying the future of green tech, including solar storage batteries and electric vehicle technologies. I have over five years of experience in the renewable energy space, with both UK and international teams (USA). I have a driven, curious nature that thrives on researching theories and abstractions to figure out how best to apply these to real-world, practical situations.
