Hello! My name is Sophia Harper, and I am a first-year student at Washington State University majoring in Marketing. Marketing stood out to me because I’ve always been drawn to understanding people, what motivates them, what captures their attention, and how brands can create experiences that truly resonate. Studying marketing allows me to combine creativity with strategy, and I’m passionate about learning how businesses communicate their value in ways that feel authentic and impactful.My journey so far has given me a wide range of experiences that strengthen my interest in the field. Working as a Hostess and Trainer at Texas Roadhouse taught me the importance of customer experience, teamwork, and clear communication. On campus, I stay involved through the Women in Business Club and the Marketing Club, where I’ve gained exposure to industry professionals, leadership development, and collaborative projects. I’m also expanding my professional skills through event operations internships with Bellingham Golf & Country Club and Gather360, where I support event planning, logistics, and client engagement.Looking ahead, I’m excited to pursue a career in marketing, particularly in areas like brand management, digital marketing, or event marketing.
