ABOUT SONU KUMAR
I am currently working on the behaviour of pile and pile-raft foundations in unsaturated soils under drying-wetting cycles. My research combines advanced soil testing, state-of-the-art physical modelling with real-time data sensing, and coupled hydro-mechanical numerical simulations using advanced constitutive models. This work has promising applications for the design of sustainable and climate-resilient infrastructure. I bring a blend of academic and industry experience, having worked as a geotechnical consultant on complex soil-structure interaction projects and taught undergraduate courses in civil engineering, including laboratory training. I am now seeking opportunities in geotechnical engineering where I can apply my expertise, contribute to innovative solutions, and collaborate on projects that address critical challenges in the field.
