About Sonu Kumar Jha

I obtained my Bachelor\'s degree in Mining Engineering (B.Tech) from NIT Nagpur. Subsequently, in 2017, I commenced my career at Coal India Limited through campus recruitment. My initial assignment placed me at ECL\'s Jhanjra Project Colliery, a subsidiary of CIL, where I assumed responsibilities for underground production, blasting, Continuous Miner development and de-pillaring, human resources allocation, longwall mining, safety and operations.On March 27, 2021, I successfully achieved the DGMS First Class Manager\'s Certificate of Competency Exam (Coal-Unrestricted), a significant milestone in my career. This achievement piqued my interest in the managerial aspects of my role, as it demanded a fusion of technical and leadership skills. Motivated to enhance my expertise in operations management and contribute more effectively to the organization\'s growth, I opted to pursue an MBA in Operations at DMSIE, IIT(ISM) Dhanbad. This decision led to a study leave granted by CIL.Upon completion of my MBA and a subsequent promotion to Deputy Manager, I got an opportunity to work in the Contract Management Cell (CMC) at ECL Headquarters, further expanding my professional horizons.
