ABOUT SONNY WU
I grew up in a small town in North East Texas called Daingerfield with a population of around people, and am currently a junior at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology studying Mathematics and Computer Science. I discovered my passion for mathematics and computer science when I was around sixteen. I recall being encouraged to enter a math competition by a local engineer in my town, Mr. Brotherton, a man whom I had the utmost respect for because, in my area, not many people were educated and he served as a role model for me. I entered the math competition and managed to solve a few problems with just my own intuition. Mr. Brotherton would show me the formulas needed to solve the problems that I got right at the competition and that\'s when I saw the connection between my own intuitive perception of reality and the abstract language of mathematics. This revelation would lead me down a rabbit hole of self-study of mathematics and also computer science. I fell in love with both math and computer science and use them as a means to understand the world and use that understanding to make the world a better, more interesting, and fun place.
