Sonja Fenton is a Senior Manager leading the Americas People Services team at Slalom, Inc. Slalom is a global consulting firm with 52 offices in 12 countries focused on strategy, technology, and business transformation. Previously, Sonja led the HR Shared Services team HR Direct at Portland, OR based manufacturing company Schnitzer Steel Industries (dba Radius Recycling). Prior to joining Schnitzer, Sonja was an Executive Recruiter at a boutique recruiting agency and worked with companies such as PUMA, Under Armour, Wilson Sporting Goods, Pabst Brewing Co, and the Portland Trail Blazers.Sonja is a strategic, passionate, and creative human resource professional with experience in HR strategy, DEI strategy and program management, employee engagement, talent acquisition, talent management, onboarding and socialization, HCM system implementations, project management, and large-scale process improvement initiatives.Sonja double majored in Human Resources Management and Management & Leadership at Portland State University and is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Business – Data Analytics with Oregon State University. Sonja holds a Professional in Human Resources® certification from HRCI®. Sonja is an active member of Western Oregon University’s Professional & Technical Writing Advisory Board (May 2018 – present). In January 2022, Sonja was nominated and joined the Western Oregon University Foundation Board of Directors.
