Leading the development of CGIAR\'s major new science group on Genetic Innovation, that offers (a) genebanks to provide global public goods in conservation and use of crops and their wild relatives,(b) market intelligence and product profiling to meet needs across five impact areas (poverty reduction, gender equality, nutrition, environmental stewardship and climate change solutions),(c) pre-breeding and breeding of crop varieties for under-served farmers and consumers, and (d) services, scaling functions and seed systems that are accessible and affordable. CGIAR\'s three science groups, on Systems Transformation, Resilient Agrifood Systems and Genetic Innovation, work closely together and in partnerships at national, regional and global levels to contribute science that helps transform food, land and water systems to meet 21st century challenges in a time of climate crisis.
