ABOUT ASTHA SONI

I’m a public policy and social impact professional working at the intersection of technology, equity, and economic development. Over the past eight years, my career has spanned managing large-scale education transformation projects with governments in India, designing AI ethics frameworks for child welfare systems in the US, and advancing workforce development strategies to align education with evolving labor markets. At Harvard Kennedy School, I deepened my focus on ethical AI, economic development, and public sector innovation, exploring how emerging technologies can drive equitable outcomes in areas like education, child welfare, and workforce systems. Previously, I led public-private partnerships to strengthen education systems serving over 5 Million students and built digital learning initiatives during the pandemic. I’ve also designed behavior change campaigns reaching women and adolescent girls, and supported clean energy adoption across rural India. One question that I am driven by is - How can we use technology and cross-sector collaboration to build systems that are more equitable, effective, and future-ready?I aspire to continue working with governments and mission-driven organizations to design policies, products, and partnerships that create lasting social impact.Let’s connect if you’re building ethical AI, driving public sector innovation, working with state and local governments, or creating products for social good!
