About Sonia Tagari

Sonia Tagari is an artist, designer, and lover of storytelling in all forms, particularly comics. As a Managing Editor at WEBTOON, she supports the next generation of comic artists from around the world in the new medium of vertical scroll comics. She focuses on Action, Fantasy, and Romance series with diverse voices. She graduated from the very first Masters of Design for Health (June 2018) cohort at OCAD University in Toronto, Ontario. During this program, she used design thinking and co-design to explore new media and technology as tools for the future in projects partnering with University Health Network, University of Toronto, and beyond. In April of 2016, she received a dual-degree from the University of Michigan in Art & Design (BFA, cum laude) and in Neuroscience (BS, with distinction) with an additional minor in the Program in the Environment. It was challenging, but she is proud of the achievement.Sonia was born in Montreal, raised in Southern California, educated in Michigan and Toronto, and is now based in Los Angeles. She is interested in health promotion, new technology, lithography printmaking, music and media, and spicy food. She has US Permanent Residency and Canadian citizenship.Want to get in contact? Spearheads the planning and organization of the Contest by working cross-departmentally and collaboratively with international branches. Serves as primary point of contact for Contest-related inquiries internally. Maintains databases with updates on development progress and anticipated publication with a focus on strategizing support for upcoming and publishing titles to maximize readership, revenue, and fandom. Sources and edits digital comics while supporting creators throughout development, production, and publication. Leverages a data-driven focus to drive engagement, readership, and revenue.
