Manages organizational performance, personnel management, budgets, and overall resilience planning and integration into City processes.• Lead resilience planning and strategy implementation for the City of Miami. Provide technical and management guidance to City Departments, City Manager’s Office, City Commissioners, and City Mayor. • Responsible for assessing and prioritizing the greatest threats to the City of Miami’s resilience. Coordinate resilience expertise and resources across City government, community members, other jurisdictions, Miami-Dade County, regional South Florida Climate Compact, state of Florida, and federal government to effectively address risks and operational weaknesses to increase resilience capabilities and regional security. • Serve as liaison to all City Departments to integrate resilience into municipal critical sectors and budgets including Transportation (transit and fleets), Stormwater (green infrastructure), Housing (energy and water efficiency, affordable housing), Buildings (energy and water efficiency for commercial and municipal), Parks (resilience hubs), and Waterfronts (resilient nature-based design) through policies, legislation, procurement, and grants.• Set up new independent Office within the City to operationalize resilience initiatives and provide oversight of resilience actions and compliance with regulations throughout the City. Included establishing administrative functions and processes, recruiting and managing staff, and implementing appropriate procedures to accomplish Office’s mission.• Oversee a stakeholder advisory committee that provides recommendations to the City Commission on climate resilience topics. • Evaluate performance and coach staff in achieving the mission of the Office. Manage time and resources to meet program objectives.• Provide formal and informal briefings and presentations to high-level management on resilience topics.
