ABOUT SONIA BELDOM

People hire me to coach their teams, individuals, CEOs and themselves in presentation skills, media training and speaker coaching. My background is in broadcast production. As a public speaker myself, I understand how nerves, focus and resilience on-camera are becoming more and more important in our new working lives. My brand of coaching has helped people over the past ten years to overcome limiting patterns, empowered groups with ideation and presenting skills and coached CEOs to shape their company culture. As the child of a complicated mum who had multiple mental health issues I realised through my own personal development that I\'ve been helping people feel calm and confident all my life. Well, when your mum turns up to school with instructions for you to eat the rotten porridge she cooked that morning, or disguises herself in a wig pretending to be you at an important work function, you realise that staying calm and focussed under pressure, mixed with a sense of humour is crucial to maintaining a resourceful, healthy life. Needless to say I\'m an advocate of mental health in all aspects of our lives, especially at work. Two of my favourite success stories include developing the communication skills for the HECK FOODS team who started out as a niche kitchen table food producer and are now a multi-million pound global food brand promoting health, positive mental attitude and nutrition. The other was facilitating a development away-day for Shine TV where we hatched the Channel 4 hit,\"Hunted\". A couple of my own TV ideas include \"Victoria\'s Empire\" for BBC1,\"The Hairy Bikers Up the Mississippi\" and I am very proud to have been part of the team to bring \"An Idiot Abroad\" to the screen.It was my mum\'s fearless attitude to life that led to my first children\'s picture book,\"Granny Franny\'s Big Red Bus\", published during the COVID-19 lockdown to help entertain kids and families stuck at home and also to raise funds for bus-related charities. Based on my escapades driving a real red Routemaster double-decker through London it\'s been a real eye-opener about what children see in the world around them.
