About Sonia Ann Friscia

Hello! A bit about my career journey: I studied Psychology and Linguistics at Princeton University. For my thesis, I built a digital app that I could deploy on Amazon’s mTurk and also use with child participants on an iPad. I LOVED iterating and evolving that project to facilitate further experimentation and functionality. Eventually, I found myself teaching in NYC public schools right as the pandemic turned everything digital. I guided my class through a pilot project with Intel for Education, and I ended up being the lead teacher on the project. Intel showcased me as a featured teacher on their blog and I realized that I couldn’t shake this passion for coding. I decided to enter Hack Reactor\'s 3 month Software Engineering Immersive where I spent hours coding solo, pair programming and within groups of 4-8 people on several projects. Currently, I am a passionate full-stack software engineer who enjoys problem-solving, web-scale optimization work, and systems strategizing.I\'m always interested in learning something new!
