About Soneyet Muhammad

Soneyet Muhammad joined Episcopal Community Services as the Chief Programs Officer to envision and lead its capacity-building initiatives, programs, and strategic partnerships for the multi-service antipoverty and racial justice organization. Informed by her commitment to measurable results, program evaluation, and DEI, her role includes community development strategy and program design, relationship and program management, and outcome optimization. Previously, she developed Drexel University’s institutional vision of economic inclusion for the President’s Office of University and Community Partnerships. At Drexel, she was instrumental in creating its economic mobility strategy that actualized the institutional civic engagement mission and resulted in new investments in local, BIPOC-owned businesses, hundreds of community members purchasing their first home, earning a industry-recognized credential, or securing employment with family-sustainable wages. Mrs. Muhammad’s background includes program development at Clarifi, research at CoStar Group, government consulting at Jones Lang LaSalle, and private equity investment at Clarion Partners in national commercial real estate developments. In these roles, she used behaviorally-informed service delivery practices and adapted operations to reach consumers through new partnership channels, led a $250 million securitized debt competition among leading investment banks, returned millions of dollars of equity investments to pension funds, and steered diverse groups of stakeholders toward consensus to the benefit of American military families. Regarded as a creative problem solver, Mrs. Muhammad has lead cross-functional teams by coaching failing employees to success, pushing mature team members to improve, and offering alternative perspectives that highlight new value propositions that demolish internal silos and uncover collaborative opportunities. She served on the Debt Advisory Group for the Aspen Institute’s Expanding Prosperity Impact Collaborative (EPIC). She has also served on the Board of Directors for Impact Services Corporation, a community-based real estate organization and RiseUp Foundation, a start-up focused on addressing housing insecurity across the United States. Mrs. Muhammad graduated from The George Washington University with a B.B.A. with a dual concentration in Finance and Economics and Public Policy. She completed her graduate degree at Penn State University in Community and Economic Development.
