ABOUT SONAL DESAI

After receiving a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from Kings College London, I immigrated to USA to continue my passion in the profession of pharmacy. I have had a strong passion for the pharmacy and healthcare industry from an early age and embraced all opportunities to grow my clinical and leadership skills.Through my strength of communication and collaboration, I have driven exceptional results by building talented teams. I have received recognition for my ability to train and develop teams, to enable them to fulfill their potential and add value to the business and continue to exceed expectations for customer service quality. Strong advocate of enhancing clinical skills of pharmacists and their ability to improve patient outcomes. Well-versed in pharmacy regulations, safety requirements and security standards. I have a broad scope of achievements and my most notable include:• Spearheaded and led an innovative pilot program centered around health coaching, which resulted in significant improvements in patient outcomes and cost savings of approximately 12K per patient per year• Built the structure and foundation for 20 stores within the region during a challenging time, establishing a consistent business plan for every store, successfully streamlining operations, and creating organizational excellence and effectiveness• Proven track record in scaling departments and programs and successfully coaching and mentoring teams, resulting in the development of high-performing & patient-focused teams with optimized operations• Led the charge during the pandemic to obtain vaccines during a shortage, successfully acquiring enough vaccines for not only the staff but also the public due to a strategic and persistent approach• Regional Healthcare Leader of the Year (2018) and Regional Pharmacy Leader (2023) for working as a team player My key leadership competencies include the ability to connect to people by listening and communicating clearly to develop professional relationships. When I am not working, I can be found hiking, reading, travelling, dancing, cooking, willing to try new experiences and spending time with my husband and my daughter and son.
