An innovative Oncologist with 12+ years of experience in developing, leading, collaborating and managing pre-clinical R&D projects, aimed at the identification of novel therapeutic drugs against cancer. Research projects directly contributed to the ushering of multiple drugs in various Phases of human clinical trials and securing over $1 million towards grants and research projects. • Project management: Applied project management and trouble shooting skillset to facilitate execution of several pharmacological and genetic studies towards discovering a novel “switch” that regulates the interaction between proteins (Methyl-CpG-binding protein 2 (MeCP2) and histone deacetylases (HDACs)) implicated in the growth of colorectal tumor cells. These findings led to two peer-reviewed publications. • Maintaining Relations: Developed and maintained peer-peer relations with key opinion leaders (KOLs) at both academic institutions and community clinics while serving as the Public Relations Director of the student government association at Texas Tech Health Science Center (TTUHSC)• Communication: Excellent science communicator, contributing to four peer-reviewed publications, 12+ presentations at regional, national and international conferences, including 4 award-winning oral presentations.• Mentorship: Efficient mentorship skills as demonstrated by teaching over 120 Allied Health Professionals and training 15+ PhD and medical students, many of which have successfully transitioned into active clinical work.• Balancing multiple job roles: Fearless and agile on wearing multiple hats, for example, while working towards my PhD project, I served the role of a lab manager and worked with my doctoral advisor - Dr. Kevin Pruitt, to set up the lab at TTUHSC from Louisiana State University Health Science Center (LSUHSC), Shreveport. • Expertise: Being trained in Medical Physiology and Pharmacology at LSUHSC and later in Immunology and Infectious Diseases, I can function to provide medical advice and consultation across different therapeutic areas such as Immunology, Neurology, and Microbiology, which are my other fields of expertise.Want to know more?
