About Somanath Misra
I\'m an experienced geophysicist with strong expertise in seismic inversion and Quantitative Interpretation methodologies. I hold a Master\'s degree in Geophysics from the Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), India followed by a Ph.D. in Geophysics from the University of Alberta, Canada. My Ph.D. dissertation is in complex inversion/ optimization methodologies as applied to exploration and seismic reservoir characterization. I have consistently published in journals such as Geophysics, Geophysical Prospecting, The Leading edge, and The Recorder. I have reviewed several technical papers for journals such as Geophysics and Geophysical Prospecting. I\'m an active member of SEG. I\'m an accomplished Geophysicist with strong analytical and technical skills. I have successfully applied Quantitative Interpretation and AVO analysis in prospect identification and maturation. I have an outstanding track record of accurate prediction of reservoir lithology and fluid properties.• I\'m highly experienced in all facets of Quantitative Interpretation (QI) methodologies such as seismic gather conditioning, well-to-seismic tie, AVO inversion, and integration of QI attributes with geological and rock physics model to reduce uncertainties. I have strong expertise in high-end inversion technologies such as global-optimization-based inversion (Simulated Annealing) and geostatistical inversion.• I\'m well experienced in terms of collaboration with multi-disciplinary geoscience teams.
