ABOUT SOLVEIG THORBORG

Director of the largest intercultural film festival in Denmark, existing since 2004, Salaam Film Festival, and of the organization producing the film festival, Salaam Film & Dialogue. The main aim of the organization is to provide methods and events for schools: Film literacy, global education, gender issues and intercultural interactions and competences. As director I have strong experience in all stages of the project/programme cycle: Design and planning, management of implementation and monitoring, reviews and evaluation, fundraising, economic management, team leadership capabilities, promoting dialogue and respect for diversity. Strong drafting skills, presentations to multiple audiences at conferences and seminars, training and facilitation of learning sessions for Salaam’s team of speakers, preparing them for their teachings in schools in all parts of Denmark. I focus on creating profitable, sustainable and long term solutions, e.g. through hard work, models for strategic partnerships and creative fundraising. Developer of tutorials of film literacy, global issues, intercultural competences and guidance of young people’s choice of lifestyle, education and job. Initiator and owner of the firm Ariadnes Kompas providing psychotherapy, self-development, stress management and yoga to individuals and groups.
