Perform accurate day-to-day recording of all accounting transactions to each separate entity to ensure a reasonable record at least bi-weekly. • Working with the Controller to complete the month end process, including statement preparation (P&L, Balance sheet, Cashflow), month end reconciliations and month end reports in a timely manner.• Extensive variance analysis of entities performance compared to budget and proffer cause of variance and recommend resolution.• Monthly Bank reconciliation across companies by ensuring that bank balance is equal to cashbook balance with various reconcilable items considered • Maintain regular communication and initiate discussions as required regarding accounting matters with our northern offices in Nunavut• Prepare and distribute monthly and quarterly financial statements by reconciling each ledger of account in the Trial balance that relates to either the income statement or statement of financial position to ensure accuracy and completeness of records.• Monthly Intercompany reconciliation of payables and receivables between related entities to ensure accurate recording of transactions among related companies • Balance sheet reconciliation by ensuring accuracy of each ledger in the statements, investigate any discrepancies by tracing or vouching ledger and source documents to support the balance presented.• Assist in preparing annual budgets/forecasts by analyzing prior year budget, factoring any assumption because of any future economic changes.• Attend to queries raised by General Managers on variances in actual budget to their monthly financial statements by providing accurate reports on why the variances occurred • Prepare periodic GST reconciliation and process GST fillings on company’s CRA account • Assist in inventory analysis, adjustment of damage, new and missing inventories, identifying variances and investigating reasons for the variance to minimize any future occurrences.
