ABOUT SOLOMON KUCKELMAN

I am a General Counsel with 20 years of hands-on experience managing and executing a broad range of legal functions in asset management, alternative investments, hedge funds, and private equity. I most recently served as GC for Man Group, the world\'s largest publicly traded hedge fund (LSE: EMG), where I led all legal matters for its US and APAC businesses across firm strategy, fund formation and lifecycle, mergers and acquisitions, employment, litigation, and corporate governance. Across progressive leadership roles at Man Group, I provided strategic legal advice and support - both individually and through the teams I led - to the firm\'s discretionary and quant/systematic business units, the firm\'s nearly 800 funds, and many more clients across a multitude of asset classes, strategies, and jurisdictions. I served as an officer and/or director for 30+ firm subsidiaries, negotiated and executed complex transactions (due diligence, closing, and integration), and managed ongoing US and certain international litigation. Additionally, I drove mentorship and cultural excellence by serving as a director of the Man US Charitable Foundation (a US charity) and served as an active member, senior ally, and/or sponsor of several of Man’s affinity groups. Prior to joining Man Group, I was an associate in the corporate department of the private funds group at Paul Hastings LLP, an Am Law 100 firm, as well as an associate in the financial services group at Sadis & Goldberg LLP, a boutique firm.
