Work on complex projects for the design, development, maintenance, research, installation, and equipment performance. Check work of more junior Designers as well as provide working supervision, guidance, and assistance to Engineering Designers. Ensure layouts conform to functional requirements and that suitable components and equipment are identified.• Lead design concept reviews; work with different modelling techniques and cross-functional teams to find the best solution. • Coordinates As-Is drawings; ensure the most up-to-date designs are entered into Documentum for future use.• Perform field visits to collect measurements and other field data.• Investigate and analyze operational problems; recommend workable solutions.• Complete packages for Documentum for all relevant designs including P & IDs, isometrics, as-built, plot elevations, etc.• Prepare Engineering Work Packages (EWOs), Bills of Material (BOMs), labour hour estimates, materials estimates, other cost estimates, engineering schedules, Scopes of Work (SOWs), Scopes of Services (SOSs).• Coordinate the overall planning of the detailing approach and works with other engineers to define and re-define the scope of work for more complex projects.• Monitor and inspect construction operations to ensure compliance to engineering design, site standards, and specifications.• Attends and facilitates various project reviews: P & ID, HAZOP (Hazard and Operability), PHA (Process Hazard Analysis), LOPA (Layers of Protection Analysis), What-If, etc.
