Soleil Nathwani is a New York based Arts & Culture, Film and Gender Writer and Columnist. She is also a former film producer and hedge fund COO who brings together over two decades of experience across media, film and finance. Soleil\'s writing spans long form features, interviews and Op-Ed and has been published in magazines including Rolling Stone, L\'Officiel, MW, House Magazine and Honeysuckle Magazine. As a Culture Columnist for Rolling Stone India she writes at the intersection of media, tech, culture and society. In much of her writing she explores how film and storytelling shapes our perspectives and ideals. Soleil’s film projects have received acclaim at festivals including Sundance and The Berlinale. In addition to developing outstanding content, Soleil has had a focus on production and distribution to amplify impact and audience engagement. She ran distribution and partnerships for Girl Rising which continues to be seen as a standard bearer for DIY distribution and social impact film making. She was also an advisor to LA based film/tech start up, Gathr Films that has disrupted the traditional distribution model by connecting film makers directly with their audiences. As a former VP at Goldman Sachs and hedge fund COO, Soleil has extensive experience building and managing businesses. She was the COO at Alson Capital overseeing growth to over $3BN in assets and COO at Lodge Hill Capital from inception, growing the fund to over $350mm in 18 months. At Goldman Sachs, she was a founding member of the Capital Introduction team which grew from 5 members to over 100 people globally. Soleil has built numerous successful businesses in terms of people, assets and innovation. Soleil has spent much of her career effectively bridging gaps; the gap between soft and hard skills in finance, the gap between business and creative in media and the gap between East and West whilst working in New York and Mumbai.
