ABOUT SOHITH PERERA
Sohith is an architect with a broad range of experience spanning over 2 decades in architecture, urbanism, interior design, and product design. He is a founding partner and creative vision of KORA. His design interest is in producing work imbued with contextual connections abstracted through a lens of timeless elegance.EDUCATIONAfter working in New York for a number of years, he attended Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation where he received a Masters degree in Advanced Architectural Design. Prior to that he received his Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Science in Environmental design from Ball State University in Indiana, USA. In UK he took the Bartlett’s course on Practice Management. EXPERIENCEWith a range of experience from small interiors to large urban scale projects, Sohith has produced design-work within a variety of project types such as urban masterplanning, residential complexes, office towers, museums, and transport infrastructure. Sohith gained professional experience at a variety of top tier offices prior to launching KORA. Also being experienced with project delivery of complex design in several countries, including USA, China, India, and Saudi Arabia, Sohith is able to produce designs that work within a local regulatory and cultural context. He worked on a number of complex and challenging projects as a lead designer and project manager, including: the Harbin Labor Recreation Center in China for MAD Architects, and the KAFD Iconic Metro Station in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for Zaha Hadid Architects.
