About Soham Ambre
I’m a recent Computer Science graduate from Rice University, currently prototyping a social meal planning app through an incubator program. The goal is to simplify food decisions by helping users discover and organize recipes shared by people they trust. The idea came from my own struggle with staying consistent around meals — and the need for a tool that reduces friction in daily planning. I’m conducting interviews, testing early prototypes, and refining the product direction based on real feedback. For my capstone, I built a question-answering system powered by retrieval-augmented generation, using faculty research data from Rice. This gave me hands-on experience with modern AI tools and evaluation workflows.
