About Sofia Szostczuk
I\'ve always been a storyteller at heart. My parents used to call me Barbara Walters when I was chatting with (interrogating) the adults instead of playing with the other kids. I guess I should have listened to them from the get-go!It wasn’t until the end of my first year that a professor opened my eyes to the intersection of media and storytelling. From that moment, I pursued Hussman’s Media and Journalism courses with intention, and since then, I wasn’t just “getting through” classes; I was thriving in them. Now, I am a senior at UNC Chapel Hill studying at the Hussman School of Journalism and Media, majoring in Journalism and Mass Communication with a focus in Advertising and Public Relations. Within that, I am pursuing a Certificate in Sports Communication (another eye-opening dream). I also have a second major in Political Science. In my free time, I love activities like yoga, reading the latest book, walking, listening to podcasts (when my mom isn\'t answering my call), and traveling! Off campus, I am a sports writer for the Daily Tar Heel, our student-run newspaper, where we cover all things sports at UNC, and a creative intern at GoHeels for UNC Athletics – Go Heels, always! Whether I\'m writing on deadline, brainstorming creative campaigns, or capturing the energy of a game, I\'ve found that a career in PR lets me bring my creativity to life in a way that\'s strategic, bold, and meaningful. I\'m passionate about uncovering the essence of a brand or moment and sharing it through visuals, experiences, and words that resonate. I am ready to dive into everything with curiosity, energy, and a fresh perspective.
