I recently graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences and am preparing for graduate study in the healthcare field, with a strong interest in direct patient care and clinical practice.I currently work as a Medical Assistant, where I gain hands-on experience through patient intake, obtaining vital signs, administering vaccines to OB patients, assisting with procedures, and supporting clinical workflows. This role has allowed me to accumulate direct patient care hours while strengthening my communication skills, professionalism, and ability to work in fast-paced clinical environments.In addition to my clinical work, I volunteer in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) at Sentara Hospital every other weekend, supporting patients and hospital staff while gaining further exposure to inpatient care. I also volunteer as a Reading Tutor with Reading Partners, helping underprivileged young students develop foundational literacy skills and academic confidence.My academic background has been shaped by a rigorous science curriculum and leadership roles outside the classroom. As Vice President of my sorority, I developed strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills while serving in a role focused on collaboration and service. I was also a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success, where I further strengthened my professional skills and commitment to excellence.My certifications include Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), CPR/AED/First Aid, and Clinical Research Practice (CRP). I graduated Cum Laude and was a Dean’s List recipient from 2021–2025. I am motivated to continue gaining clinical and service-based experience while preparing for graduate-level training and a future role as a healthcare provider.
