ABOUT SOFIA IBARRA

I am a student-athlete at Babson College, competing in Division volleyball and pursuing a career in Finance with a focus on Financial Advisory Services. Athletics has taught me discipline, composure under pressure, and how to lead through communication and teamwork, skills that translate directly into the collaborative nature of finance.Growing up in Miami within a Swedish-Guatemalan household shaped my worldview and gave me an appreciation for cultural nuance. This blend of backgrounds has taught me that there’s rarely one right answer. It’s also shaped how I relate to people, helping me understand different perspectives and communicate with empathy. This mindset fuels how I analyze problems, both in life and the classroom.I’m drawn to Financial Advisory because it combines the precision of numbers with the human side of decision-making. I enjoy helping others navigate complex financial choices while building meaningful, trust-based relationships.
