ABOUT SOFIA GALLEGO

I’m an astrophysicist by training (PhD, ETH Zurich), with postdoctoral experience at Caltech and Université Paris Cité, where my research focused on how galaxies form and evolve within large-scale structures, and on what their environments reveal about the history of the universe. I’m drawn to questions that sit at the limits of models: how complex systems emerge, how traces of the past persist, and how we interpret what we observe.Alongside science, I have always worked through art — as a violinist, singer, and actress. I don’t experience science and art as opposites, but as parallel ways of asking the same questions: how we relate to the world, how we make sense of it, and how we connect what is inside us with what exists outside. Both are attempts to build bridges — between ideas, between people, between inner experience and shared reality.I am the founder and CEO of Cosmoventures, an interdisciplinary initiative connecting science, art, education, and artificial intelligence. Through this work, I explore how people learn, create, and communicate, with particular attention to neurodiversity and inclusive ways of engaging with knowledge. My focus is on developing tools, experiences, and educational technologies that respect complexity without losing human meaning.Across research, art, and design, I work with data, visuals, and storytelling to translate complex ideas into forms people can connect with. Curiosity, clarity, and the desire to belong — to ideas, to communities, to shared understanding — guide everything I do.
