About Sofia Demartino

I am an experienced leader with a decade of service to nonprofit organizations. I get a thrill from building community coalitions that lead to tangible, impactful results for those in need. The first half of my career was dedicated to program development, and I was honored to lead a Meals on Wheels program that grew from one to five counties during my tenure. When two natural disasters and a pandemic relocated my office chair to the VP of Development desk, I led the organization to a 573% increase in grants revenue in two years. While observing countless stories of humanity and compassion over the course of my career, I have developed a love for giving voice to these stories in both the written and spoken word. Media relations, marketing, and public speaking have provided me incredible opportunities for direct community engagement with corporations, donors, government entities, social service organizations, and individual stakeholders. I have delved into healthcare logistics with the Governor’s office, advocated for older adults with members of Congress, even held conversations with presidential hopefuls that brought the disparity in Black Maternal Health to the presidential debate stage for the first time in history.Behind the scenes, I enjoy crafting the organizational strategy that guides the day to day activities. I love to coach and develop leaders within my team; finding the spark of excitement that drives them to advance the work beyond what was believed to be possible. I love collaborative endeavors that build capacity and magnify impact for those who need it most.I strive to open dialogues that serve as a catalyst for change, inspiring people to question the status quo, challenge their own beliefs, and seek greater understanding for collective growth.
