Digital Twin Consortium® coalesces industry, government and academia to drive consistency in vocabulary, architecture, security and interoperability of digital twin technology. It advances the use of digital twin technology from aerospace to natural resources.The AECO workgroup will deliver industries with standardized definitions, protocols and methodologies that enable the industry to create, apply and use precise, knowledge rich digital twins that replicate, simulate and evaluate the physical twin.

ABOUT SOFIA AGOSTINELLI
Sofia Agostinelli is a construction engineer expert in digital innovation and technology for the Built Environment. Since 2019 she is a R&D coordinator at Sapienza University of Rome - CITERA Research Centre, dealing with the development, promotion, and education on digital emerging technologies around the world. She has participated in national and international research projects, managed project and research teams, and authored several publications on peer-reviewed scientific journals, volumes, and conference proceedings.Sofia earned her Masters from Sapienza University of Rome, specialising in Project Management and BIM technologies. Since 2019 she is adjunct Professor of Project Management at the Faculty of Architecture of Sapienza University of Rome. She served as Project Manager in Architectural, Engineering and Real Estate organizations, shaping the ambition to strategically innovate and optimise the construction industry through digitisation and energy efficiency. In 2020 she joined the PhD program in Energy and Environment at Sapienza University of Rome, focusing her research activities on Digital Twins and digital workflow automation for the AECO sector, combining BIM, IoT, AI, ML and XR for sustainable development.In 2021 she co-founded Best Design, a startup of Sapienza University of Rome, supporting complex organizations across digital transformation, and since 2023 she serves as a BIM & Digital Twin Manager at the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic of Italy.
