I teach creative writing and literary publishing courses. CW classes focus on generating new work in fiction, poetry, and nonfiction. Publishing courses focus on on the process of book publication, and serve as a hands-on introduction to the publishing industry, and prepares students for work in this thriving and creative field. Topics covered include acquisitions, substantive and copy editing, book reviewing, and book marketing / publicity.

ABOUT STEVE WOODWARD
I\'m an independent creative director with a dozen years experience in the book publishing industry. I have a well-rounded background in copywriting, design, editing, and creative problem solving. I employ a hands-on, collaborative approach to developing creative work, with a nose for copy that inspires. As a senior editor for Graywolf Press, my authors included New York Times best sellers, winners of the Booker Prize and NBCC Award, and finalists for the National Book Award and Pulitzer Prize. I teach publishing and creative writing at several colleges and universities, using my extensive knowledge of the publishing industry to educate students and nurture young professionals on the business of writing. My passion for clear, well-crafted messaging helps individuals, companies, and brands meet their goals and change the world for the better.
