About Scott Johnson
My professional life began in psychiatric nursing, followed by years in hospice and bereavement counseling, specializing in trauma. That work shaped how I understand people, systems, and responsibility — especially where vulnerability and power intersect.Alongside that, I’ve spent many years in technical and experimental work, including website design and maintenance, often at the boundary between human complexity and practical systems.Today, I work selectively as a consultant and business partner, often alongside others doing direct financial or operational work. My contribution is usually upstream: clarity, judgment, structure, and a long view informed by both care work and systems thinking.In parallel, I’m writing stories and reflections for my grandchildren, so they’ll know where they came from and what mattered along the way.I value durability over speed, understanding over jargon, and work that improves lives without losing its humanity.
