ABOUT SNIGDHA BHOWMICK
At NKure, I am for the first time exploring the immune aspects of cancer, and how NK cells specifically can be used for therapy. I have over ten years of experience working in cancer biology, focussed on cell and metabolite signaling in solid tumor micro environments (TMEs). As an academic, my research expertise spanned mitochondrial functioning and the disruption thereof in cancer cells, hormone signaling in prostate cancer metastasis, and coculture models of liver TME and cachexia. I have also worked with the artemisinin family of drugs for understanding their role in ferroptosis-assisted cancer cell death.In addition to my research, I am passionate about science communication and basic education. My goal is to advance the understanding and treatment of cancer and other diseases through interdisciplinary research, and in collaboration with market leaders, enable the translation of innovative therapies from bench to bedside.
