This involves understanding supplier capability; Price, quality, capacity, & lead time- Upon approval; Train, develop, sustain and effectively liaison with suppliers and buyers to ensure delivery/procurement of supplies in a timely manner for seamless execution of orders- Involvement in entire life cycle of order execution; understanding & analyzing buyer requirements (customer/concept)and executing them by finding solutions through price negotiations, Order placement/analysis, T&A call outs, Risk assessment, Sample checking, Inspection planning, Factory visits till final shipment release- Close cooperation with all teams - buying, product management, quality management, quality control, Technicians, Lab, logistics & COC- Mentored / Trained new merchandisers & assistants.ACHIEVEMENT : Headed the non textile merchandising team in India/Sri Lanka & doubled the business in 1 year by adding new items and diverting importer business to Direct orders.Handled ~ US $2 Mil orders.
