About Smriti Ramesh
As a rising senior at the University of California, Los Angeles, my interests lie deep in the field of human physiology and molecular networking. I am passionate about various areas of specialization, such as cardiology and oncology, guiding me to pursue a Bachelor\'s Degree in Science under Human Biology and Society. The interdisciplinary nature of Biology draws me to explore deeper into its applications in medicine and the future medical world. Each volunteering opportunity and research endeavor aroused a sense of satisfaction within me when contributing to a meaningful and humanitarian purpose in underserved local communities. It also heightened my consciousness and desire to be at the frontline of medical care to develop affordable medical solutions that can aid in detecting, diagnosing, and curing conditions. To me, leadership is about taking personal responsibility to motivate and uplift others working towards a common goal. I believe that leaders need to earn the love and respect of followers through inclusive actions. Far beyond academic interests, I also find joy in volunteering and working alongside like-minded students to bring a sense of hope and connections that bridge the gaps between communities. This has catalyzed my passion towards topics such as mental health and being a part of many student-led extracurriculars during high school to expand my skill set.
