About Dave Bruffy

I had the opportunity to join Mountain Line in 1997. I helped consolidate the Monongalia County Transit System and the City of Morgantown Transit System when I worked as Assistant Manager at the City of Morgantown. When the GM position again opened for this new organization, I applied and was selected as its second GM. As a new organization, I knew there would be opportunity to to grow and develop this vital community service, and I was extremely fortunate to receive the community support necessary to work at Mountain Line for more than 25 years. In that time, I oversaw the development, design and redesign of the bus system, watching ridership grow more than 500%. I had the opportunity to develop and lead a skilled senior management team and after 16 years of effort, my team succeeded in earning public approval to secure a $9 million Excess Property Tax Levy on our first offering to the public. I also worked to double the fleet size fleet size, triple the workforce, and sustained an average 43% revenue recovery rate. I had opportunity to purchase and renovate the Authority’s first permanent multi-purpose facility, to which we later added the area\'s first, major roof mounted Solar Power Plant. And then there was COVID. Over my 25 year tenure Mountain Line provided some 18.6 million passenger rides. I very much enjoyed my career with Mountain Line and I believe the future of the organization is bright and I look forward to seeing continued service development and growth. 10 years of previous work with the City of Morgantown offered serval public service opportunities- Assistant Planner- Building Inspections Supervisor- Community and Economic Development Program Manager- ADA Officer- Animal Control- Transit- Sanitation- Municipal Court; and- Assistant Manager.
